HUBUNGAN MOTIVASI DAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT PADA PASIEN CONGESTIVE HEART HAILURE (CHF) DI POLIKLINIK JANTUNG RSUD DR MURJANI SAMPIT

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death and morbidity. One cardiovascular disease that has a major impact on public health is CHF which often requires re-hospitalization due to recurrence or worsening of the condition. Patient compliance in taking medication is a very important factor in controlling this condition. The phenomenon at the research site found patients who were not compliant in following the treatment regimen with the reason of feeling cured, fear of side effects, and forgot to take medicine because the family did not remind them. This study aims to determine the relationship between motivation and family support with adherence to taking medication in CHF patients. This study is a type of correlational research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were patients who sought treatment at the Cardiac Polyclinic totaling 519 people, with a sample of 84 respondents. Data collection using questionnaires of motivation, family support, and compliance with taking medication with the Spearman Rank statistical test. The study obtained a p value of 0.106 or> 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis was rejected so that there was no relationship between motivation and compliance with taking medication. Also obtained a p value of 0.086 or> 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis is rejected so that there is no relationship between family support and compliance with taking medication. So it can be concluded that there is no relationship between motivation and compliance with taking medication. There was also no association between family support and medication adherence.
