Menarche is a critical milestone in the development of adolescent girls, ideally requiring physical, emotional, and cognitive preparedness. In reality, many girls encounter menarche unprepared, often accompanied by fear and confusion due to limited basic knowledge about menstruation. This study aimed to examine the correlation between knowledge level about menstruation and the readiness of prepubertal adolescent girls to face menarche at SDN 6 Bukit Tunggal, Palangka Raya City. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was applied involving 33 fifth- and sixth-grade students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The Chi-Square analysis revealed a significant correlation between knowledge level and readiness for menarche (p = 0.001). However, the findings also indicated that a high level of knowledge does not necessarily guarantee emotional readiness, as factors such as parental support and personal experiences play a contributing role. It is concluded that while knowledge is an important component in building readiness, comprehensive educational interventions that involve both families and schools are essential to foster holistic preparedness among prepubertal girls.
